Who belongs and how you worship
Salvation
God sovereignly chooses who is saved. People can not choose this for themselves.
Congregational rule
Each local church should govern itself, without bishops or a higher church authority over it.
Immersion only
Baptism should be by full immersion only.
Church hierarchy
A higher church authority above the local congregation should decide what the whole church teaches.
Open communion
Anyone who wishes may take communion. It should not be reserved only for members of that congregation.
Bible authority
The Bible is fully trustworthy and the final authority for what Christians believe and how we live.
Real presence
In communion, Jesus is really there. He's not only a memory.
Baptism saves
Baptism itself saves you or gives new life. It is more than a symbol.
Infant baptism
Babies should be baptized, not only adults who already believe.
Apostolic line
Real church leaders must come through a line of leaders going back to the apostles.
Spiritual gifts
Gifts like tongues, prophecy, and healing are for the church today and should show up in normal church life.
Tongues required
Speaking in tongues is the required initial evidence of baptism in the Holy Spirit.
Women pastors
Women may be ordained as pastors, elders, or priests.
Contemporary music
Instruments and contemporary worship music are appropriate in church.
LGBTQ leaders
The church should affirm same-sex marriage and LGBTQ people in pastoral leadership.
Historic faith
The church should keep the historic Christian teachings about God, Jesus, Scripture, and salvation. It should not rewrite them for modern culture.
Once saved
If you are truly saved, you cannot lose that salvation.
Trinity
God is three persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — and still one God.
Saturday Sabbath
Christians should keep Saturday, not Sunday, as the Sabbath.
Life & marriage
A faithful church should oppose abortion and teach that marriage is one man and one woman.
